GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I had a mediocre experience due to the lack of diversity. The best part of the school would be the teachers as they are eager to teach and get to know their students

Wasn't the best school, did not prepare me for what I have faced in college .I feel as if more resources should be put in place to help student's financially as they transition from high school to college.

I feel like the two best aspects of Stony Point is its academic and performing arts. I'm planning to major in STEM, so I have high expectations that the mathematics and science department are teaching what I need to be college ready. But going into my senior year, I don't have too many complaints about not only math and science but all of the core classes I've taken thus far. The courses are fun and engaging for the most part, and all of the teachers that I've had are nice and are willing to provide a hand to students that are struggling. The plays performed by our school are really engaging largely due in part to the charismatic performance of the actors on stage. The only bad thing I have to say about the school is the frequent use of drugs by students on the campus. Although not as bad as it used to be, it's still pretty common to see kids use weed pens and e-cigs in the bathrooms and outside during class. I hope this problem can be solved in the future, however.

Former student of Stony Point. So if you're looking on here to evaluate whether you should attend this school or send your kid here, then read this. I know what I'm talking about, I went here for 4 years. The teachers and classes here are great, however I rated it 1 star. The school administration i...

This highschool is not safe for your kids. It has 2700 plus students and classrooms without teachers monitoring. The kids openly fight, do drugs in the bathroom, look up sex on line at school, etc. Walking through the school in what the kids call the mall there is so much pushing, fighting, and so c...

Stony Point High School is a wonderful school. The demographic of students provides a real world experience. The teachers are passionate about teaching students in a challenging time. The neighboring schools receive far more funding yet Stony Point still shows up for the teachers and students.
