GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Further years in high school are spent on college readiness, which have yet to pay off. The school has troubles with keeping staff, but the staff they keep are generally competent.

Umoja is a great school for students who are okay with a smaller class and an academic focus. Umoja offers the IB Program which is great for college readiness and the teachers are amazing and offer one on one help to everyone because of our size. Umoja is not at all ideal for student athletes, or students who want other specialized electives excluding art.

IT was fun having a very small graduating class where everyone new eachother but the IB program was very difficult and it is not for everyone.

KCIA has had a rough couple of years with the pandemic, the loss of both the principal and the AP, and a bunch of staff retirements. The post-distance learning middle schoolers are half feral and there have been a lot of behavior problems -- this is pretty much the norm at most schools in 2021-2022,...

My daughter is a straight A's student however, since she went here last year her grades went downhill. Most of the kids use profanity and there's always a fight going on.

Although I like the new things I see the principal trying to do. There are still obstacles in his path way. One of them is DC. The students shouldn't want to go there to hangout, play, get on their phone...etc. How do I know this? Look at my son's Facebook page and the students at KCMS post pictures...
