GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

It is a smaller school, which has its pros and cons. It is great because it allows for a very tight-knit school community, and everyone is very connected. Teachers and students can easily connect, and everyone knows each other. One thing I would like to see change though is the student section in sports. We are very energetic, but if we had been a bigger school we might have had more of an influential student section. Overall though, an amazing school to go to.

My experience as a student at St. Charles West High School was great. The staff are pushing often for student involvement in lessons and with peers. Activities often all get their own spot lights and have funding. The school is an overall safe space for creativity and fun in the learning environment. The students are all mostly kind to each other and make some form of effort in their work. The programs that help with school work and college readiness has made it easier for students who struggle in the classroom.

St. Charles West has given me an amazing high school experience. I have been involved in the Jazz Band, Golf Team, National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, etc. From not knowing anyone as a freshmen to having many close friends as a senior, I am quite thankful for my four years at this school.

We love West! The teachers and administrators focus on not only getting the students through high school, but also to successful education after high school either via trade school or college.

I went to West in the 1990's so my perspective is a bit outdated. I have done very well professionally and make a very nice salary even by pre-recession standards. None of this would of happened without the dedicated staff at SCW. This school saved my academic life. Several teachers there were nothi...
