In response to the city of San Antonio’s expansive growth to the north and northwest and a similar growth pattern within the Archdiocese of San Antonio, Saint Gregory the Great Catholic School was established circa 1955. Saint Gregory serves students in grades pre-K through 8. The curriculum at Saint Gregory follows a science, technology, religion, engineering, arts, and mathematics, or STREAM format designed to nurture students in their personal, academic and spiritual growth. As the first school within the greater San Antonio area to fully implement this curriculum, Saint Gregory integrates advanced technology in each subject area to enhance students’ learning experiences. All students also receive instruction in other core areas, such as literature and reading, language arts, social studies and physical education. Students can participate in baseball, basketball, soccer, cross country, dance and more. Academics complement several extracurricular activities such as math, chess and astronomy clubs.

This school is simply the best. There are a multitude of educational options in San Antonio but we remain at St. Gregory's because the environment is what we feel is best for our children. From academics rooted in faith to campus safety, we are confident in the staff, teachers, and administration. They simply care about my daughters as if they were their own.

I couldn’t ask for a better school to raise my three children. From the early childhood program all the way to the middle school teachers, they give love and care to each student and family.

We were paired with a St. Gregory family that had their children at the school for a number of years. They answered...

Our family's involvement with St. Gregory the Great Community has spanned ten incredible years! We've watched our son grow from a curious PK-4 student into a confident 8th grader, thanks to the dedication of his phenomenal teachers who genuinely care about his wellbeing and educational growth. He co...

The counselor said she has never encountered anything like my son's situation and did not want to work at finding the necessary resources to help him. There are much better Cathol...
