GreatSchools Rating

GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I have enjoyed my overall stay at Mira Mesa High school. I have been given opportunities to excel in my education by my counselor. My teachers have helped guide me to strive for my education, but not my overall college education. I feel prepared yet still unprepared at the same time. Because of this, on my spare time I do my research on what colleges are looking for. Other than college readiness, Mira Mesa has been a welcoming school and has helped push me in the right direction for my education.

The school overall is mediocre. Like any other American school, their main focal point is football since its the revenue that gains a lot of money. However, when students are having problems with the faculty, the school will always side with the faculty and not the students. Even when there is clear evidence that the student is in the right. Overall, this is a fine school, I just wouldn't expect support if you or your child is struggling with the school.

I am a junior, class of 2024 at the high school currently. I am the president of the gardening club as well as secretary of a religious club and a sergeant in the AFJROTC program. I have had good experience with support with the high school.

It’s fine, teachers don’t really teach they like talking with students or going on their phones. Some science teachers are great not the biology. Math is great if your in advanced. English is bad, teachers just mess around and do not really grade besides advanced ones. History teachers are horrible,...

I love this school! The people are so kinda. The teachers are actually really helpful. I transferred here from Torrey Pines High School where it a rich area and people assume the school is well funded. That's not the case. Mira Mesa is better funded definitely. Only one bad thing is the campus is cl...
