GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Within this School ive found a great home that fosters a close knit community who supports anyone and everyone. With the great community our artistic endeavors are supported amazingly personally I enjoy working technical theater and with that there is an after school program that allows anyone to come into the shop and help with the current production or on your own projects. My only gripe wit the school is that academics are kind of an after thought that are still supported however nowhere near as much as the artistic programs and classes. Overall if your looking of a place to foster your artistic desire and be in a safe and loving community this is the place for you.

I think, compared to other schools I've been to, Scpa is mediocre. The community is very diverse. It is known for being very queer friendly, and I do credit it on that. Name changes are fast and effective. The food is bland and not much to write home about. Sometimes it is hard to keep up academically as they try to fit two semesters into one. The classes are also way too long.

I really enjoyed my high school experience at SDSCPA. Although it was a public school, so resources were limited, the teachers and student were welcoming and provided a great environment for all types of people.

The environment of the school is actually so suffocating, all the students talk trash behind everyone’s back; especially online. The school doesn’t do anything half of the time (ignored sexual assault allegations, bullying, teachers who don’t do their job, teachers who say slurs in class) because th...

Don’t be fooled by anyone who says the students here are accepting. Gossip and rumors are very prevalent, even if they’re not obvious on the surface. Social media has fostered a certain culture here that values image and preconceived versions of you more than your actual, tangible self, with all the...

If you care about your child’s education you may want to stay away from this school. The learning material is not challenging enough for the grade levels and there is so much bullying going around. Find a better school for your student.

The SCPA that I know is wonderful. My child has attended for two high school years now. The current principal is excellent and caring. My child never had a teacher she didn’t like. Her academic counselor is on top of things and always replies within 24 hours, typically much sooner. Through the schoo...
