GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

It is a school that is aimed toward college readiness but in fact does the opposite. There is no extracurriculars, the teachers are distracted, the campus is borrowed in the back of another schools parking lot and it is ultimately stiffling. This school stiffles learning and creativity, only supporting students who do not try at all and who put no effort into education. I will be moving schools next year because of this environment.

Summit Tahoma is a true hidden gem. Not many families know about this school and those who do often overlook it due to its smaller size and the fact that it shares a campus with another high school in a challenging school district. But Tahoma offers an amazing and diverse program and academic environment for its students. The staff are fantastic. They really do care about the students. The mentor program — unique to all Summit schools — is such a great way to help students stay on track academically and social/emotionally. I have flourished at Summit and feel like I have finally come into my own as a student.

Summit Tahoma is a gem. Inclusive, supportive, small (400 students total vs our highly rated local public school which has way more than that per grade) & FREE (public charter school). Mastery-based college prep (so students can't move on until they have mastered the material), project-based (so mor...

I highly recommend Summit Tahoma. The academics are challenging and also engaging. The teachers care about their students and have office hours for students who need extra help. My student loves the expeditions and his mentor group. He has also met a great group of peers and is thriving at Tahoma.

I feel like Tahoma is a true diamond in the rough. If you're looking for a high school that combines solid academics with personalized attention, this school fits the bill. The close-knit environment allows students to thrive both academically and personally. The teachers and mentors are truly excep...

Tahoma has about 100 students in each grade, and forms mentor groups each containing about 20-25 students, led by a mentor teacher. The small size, regular group meetings and 1-1 meetings with the mentor teacher, and events arranged outside school, allow students and teachers know each other very we...
