GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I'd like to see a change in safety, there was not much when I was there. A lot of fights and issues between students. Teachers were also 50/50, some good some bad

I'm a rising senior in SLHS. The best part of my school is how diverse the community is. We're very cultured. We have lots clubs and academies that represent different cultures in our community. The teachers and staff are very involved with one another. The worst part of SLHS is that we have a lot of security in campus, but they don't do anything to protect the students. They just seat around and chat with the students instead of disciplining them because they have favorites.

The best part of San Leandro Highschool is the community. Everyone is diverse and comes together as one. This school is very unique and truly beautiful. The staff members are amazing. The only problems I had my whole time attending here, was due to Covid. There was a teacher shortage. I had 3-4 classes where I had no teachers and had to do an online course that was hard and really taught us nothing because we didn't have a teacher to teach us. So I feel that I have been failed as a student in terms of preparation for college.

Shameful. It would be reasonably for the school to be closed down and individual student files, behavioral issues, and grade passing to be reviewed by an independent evaluator.

My son is a freshman at SLHS and we have several neighbors with older kids currently at SLHS or who are graduates. SLHS is a large urban high school that is ethnically and socioeconomically diverse. While this creates some challenges, I believe there far more benefits. In developing my son to one da...

The student bathrooms aren't always clean. Sometimes the student toilets are overflowing with urine and feces and are always dirty. The School is multi-culturally diverse and has a lot of great programs. There are all kinds of students: some honors students, some average students, and some remedial...
