GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

It has some of the better academic courses for other high schools in the area but also some good sports. There's not much of a big football culture cause the team is bad but basketball is really big.

Santa Cruz High is a really great school for those looking to flourish in academics. The school is on an excel schedule, so most classes are taken in half of the time. With this, students have to ability to graduate early or take more classes they enjoy, rather than just the required amount. The band is known widely around the area and is highly accredited for their excellence.

I enjoyed this school a lot, all the teachers where motivating and I got a lot of help from the counselors as well. I felt very welcome and I wasn't judged when when I went to administration for help.

My son has thrived at SCHS. He is a high achieving kid and loves Math Academy and advanced science classes. The teachers have been really engaged and communicated their passion for their subject matter effectively as well as offering terrific instruction. He also likes the relative diversity of the...

My children were new to the area when they started 9th grade and took to the school very quickly -- making friends, studying hard and growing up. The administration, teachers and other parents are friendly and helpful. The school is big enough to give children many opportunities - from sports to ban...

Both my husband and I attended Santa Cruz High in the 90s, my son just graduated, and my daughter currently attends SCHS. I have nothing but good things to say about SCHS. The administration is kind and welcoming, the teachers and staff are caring and provide rigorous, fun, and a balanced experience...

My daughter was attending SCHS. She was failing classes and having a terrible time trying to get one minute of the overwhelmed teachers time to no avail. Everyone was too busy to help this doomed case called my daughter. All teachers told her to get tutoring (at $100 a pop and the time commitment.)...
