Founded in 1971, Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences is a private school with approximately 1,200 students in kindergarten through twelfth grade, two campuses located a few blocks apart in Santa Monica and a well-earned reputation as one of the best schools in Los Angeles. Among its strengths are its programs in performing and visual arts, music, classics, literature, math, science, history, computer science, community service and environmental/experiential education. Crossroads’ founding aim was to build a socially, economically and racially diverse student population and reflect a “whole child” approach to education, prioritizing the development of each student’s physical well-being and full human potential. From kindergarten through senior year, they are taught to think critically and creatively, form deep bonds with peers and teachers and impact their communities. With students drawn from a diverse population of high achievers, prominent graduates from Crossroads School include celebrities, politicians, businesspeople, athletes and more. 98 to 100 percent of Crossroads graduates matriculate directly into college. In addition to its academic excellence, Crossroads’ upper and middle school athletic programs regularly win state and regional championships. Application and admission to Crossroads takes place through an online system called Ravenna HUB, used by private and independent schools.

I really love the environment, as I am surrounded by many bright minds and great opportunities. I've never felt out of place or excluded. Ever since the first year, I felt like I have grown as a person and learner.

This is such a great school. I came in 9th grade and although I'm new everyone's so nice and I got to know a lot of great friends. We call teachers by their first names and they are all very nice. The academic environment is great but not too much pressure. The school's atmosphere is alive everyday.....

Crossroads is a great school, with a great student body and faculty contributing to a wonderful sense of community. The teachers are great and very accessible but also focused on challenging you to learn both through critical thinking and hard work.

Crossroads fosters high performance with a creative, laidback attitude. It is academically challenging for students by pushing them to think and express themselves in creative ways. Teachers tend to be very supportive, and they keep us informed as parents. Crossroads has a strong sense of community....

This school was the most disconnected, disjointed, disorganized mess that I've ever worked at. From the moment I met with HR for my first day, the HR manager appeared to have no idea what she was doing, the paperwork I received looked ancient. There were no instructions on how to access payroll, tha...
