Sarasota Middle School’s mascot, the panther, is prominent throughout many of the public school’s programs — from its motto, the Panther Pact, to its interscholastic sports teams. The approximately 1,200 students in grades six through eight enjoy special activities throughout the school year, like visits from dessert trucks, a book fair and spirit week, where they get to dress up according to a different theme each day. It’s not all fun and games, though. Students participate in National History Day and the STEM Fair. Exceptional students can place into the Panther Gifted Academy, and all students may choose elective courses in fields such as music and technology. Extracurricular activities contribute to the school’s creative and fitness facets. Students may take part in drama and choir, putting on performances throughout the year. The athletic department includes tennis, golf, basketball and track teams who compete against other local schools. No matter where each student’s interests lie, they all unite for the Panther Pact: to be polite, prepared, productive and safe. You’ll find Sarasota Middle School’s 42-acre campus in a commercial area, close to Ashton Elementary School.

Reviews are meaningless for the most part because people use them to complain. But this review is not the case. It's to get a message across to other teachers. I recently taught as a sub here and wish to forewarn anyone substituting at this school to beware of their ESE classes. My reason for saying...

As an 7th grade student who currently goes there, I think this is one of the worst schools ever, but it is somewhat okay. Some teachers are nice and actually care about my education, which I am thankful for. Although there are many teachers and staff members who I find so moody, and many teachers wh...

This school is beyond a let down. I don't even know where to start. The whole AGA group and PGA group being completely segregated is horrible to do to any child. Talk about labeling them right off the bat. Than there's the teachers who are just in a bad mood at school and blame your child's behavior...
