Overall, Madison Middle School was a on-and-off kind of situation in terms of education, and I found it to be quite cliche orientated. Throughout the 3 years that I was enrolled I had some incredibly good teachers who taught me lessons that I still use today, but I also had some terrible teachers who didn't help me progress at all. I didn't get bullied there, but I didn't really feel like I belonged either. I'm part of the HCC classes, and the school didn't do a good job with curriculum for more advanced students.

Madison just cancelled its honors classes from 2020-21 onward (same as all the other middle schools in Seattle.) HCC still exists for the few who can test into it, but everyone else will be stuck with dumbed down general ed.

9/10 on the disappointment scale. Yes, kids will be kids. However, the adults need to wake up and smell the coffee (and perhaps the blood in the water).

Madison has been a wonderful school so far. There are so many academic opportunities for the students. This is my daughter's first year in the district, but I have found that more advanced classes are available with testing. We've loved our first two years at Madison. The teachers have been dedicated, focused and supportive. More than welcome to set up consultations whenever we needed some extra guidance.
