GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

It's a pretty good school, but in a small town. There are pretty good athletics and clubs, but some of the teachers are very old school.

I love the culture and family that Sedro Woolley High School has created for me. I play volleyball which is a family in itself, but the community members and peers that show up and show out at our games is incredible. I love the way out school values it's students and puts their best interests above all else.

this is a place for students who fit this school's demographic: white, christian, right-wing. but despite Sedro's hometown enthusiasm, those who don't fit the mold often have a very difficult experience. there's a LOT of racism and homophobia here, and admin seems unwilling to address it. i also find that the insular, small-town vibe of this school is really depressing sometimes. my other major qualm is that those who plan on pursuing higher education get little support; there's been some instances where i was actively discouraged against attending college. every year we lose more and more ap courses because no one enrolls in them. the level of instruction varies wildly here: some teachers are compassionate and exceptional, and others are very bad at their jobs. i also find that most clubs get little funding compared to what's poured into athletics. what i'd say overall is that some people truly thrive in this environment, but for those that don't, Sedro can be very isolating.
