GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

JHS is one of the richest schools in WV, but its still not great. Theres a lack of funding in every department.

I transferred here for my junior and senior year. Best part is counselors are very involved and have true care for students and their success. Worst part in my opinion, there is none. I've had no issues since I've been here with anything.

The best parts of my high school experience include the amazing teachers and mentors that I have had the chance to meet and be influenced by. The worst parts of my experience include other students who did not get a long. A small school with a student population too hard for it to handle led to many fights amongst the other kids. This made it hard to focus and get work done with many distractions made by other students.

They blame students and say they just don’t do work or show up for class but in the same breath can’t answer as to why they are behind on posting gra...

I have two kids that currently attend JHS. The school has quite a few problems, kids smoke/vape in the bathrooms all day and nobody does anything about it, teachers allow horrible profanity, there are mice in some parts of the school, the D wing stinks of sewage when it rains, the secondary gym is o...

It was pretty good, I enjoyed the teachers but some of them gave too much homework.

This is my first born. It seems like it is a good school, safe, and well run. Yes, there are kids making choices that the adults don't support but the teachers monitor and catch as much as they can.
