It's a great school that fosters leadership and collaboration with your peers. Most of the teacher's are professional, with exceptions. I think there needs to be more disciplinary action when teacher's step out of line, however, since some of them seem to get away with mistreating their students simply due to their seniority and intelligence.

The community at Smithtown High School West is unmatched. Students support each other, teachers encourage and empower students, and administration ensures a safe, inspiring place to learn. When events went on in school--plays, games, concerts--the stands are always packed with West Side Pride which is an amazing feeling.

This is literally the worst school, everyday I come here I feel drained and miserable and the staff are a bunch of old miserable people. There’s like 4 teachers I actually like and I know care about there students. When you are a teacher you can’t not like kids and it’s obviously half the staff here...

This school turns a blind eye to the bullying until your child has to defend themself, then they are calling you to report that your child is aggressive. Everyone here in Smithtown knows someone so if you get a group of clique kids that target another, don't expect much unless you are in the same in...

This school used to be good, but not anymore. Academically, the teachers dont do a goodjob of preparing the students for college. Socially, there is a major drug issue that is swept under the rug..
