With courses offered for gifted and accelerated learning, English Speakers for Other Languages (ESOL), and consideration given to the needs of special education students, the International Academy of Smyrna looks to give its pupils the best experience possible regardless of their background.
Overseeing kindergarten to fifth grade, this international baccalaureate public school on South Cobb Drive offers a rigorous instructional program founded on the Georgia Standards of Excellence, building up a core of instruction in math, reading comprehension and social studies.
The school places a special emphasis on regular assessments including Georgia Milestones and benchmark tests to make sure that students are receiving the best education possible and to notify parents of their children's challenges in need of improvement and triumphs deserving praise.
In addition to having the grounds of Chuck Camp Park right next to the campus, the school sponsors numerous field days to keep its students active and physically fit. A select number of school organizations are also open to student membership including Beta club, and many parent-student events throughout the year seek to keep parents involved in their children's education.
