GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The majority of the school is fine, there's not a whole lot I didn't like. It was really just accesibility and places for students that were safe spaces. There were really only a few areas of the school you could go that were "safe" and many of them were associated with clubs you had to be in to use the space. I would say make more of these places and also address bullying more seriously, especially for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC students.

Pomperaug has an amazing set of faculty and teachers. i have not met a single teacher who has not been fair, kind and seem to genuinely care for both their job and their students.

For the most part, teachers are engaging and interact well with students. Many of the teachers care for their students and take the time for them to understand the content. The food at the school is not great though. For instance, in the past, several people I know received lunches that had plastic in it. The food can also be soggy and unappetizing.

Overall a good school however I did have a few problems with bullying and felt unheard by a couple of the teachers there. However I graduated over 6 years ago so maybe that aspect has improved.

I understand Academics are important but so is emotional well being. A no-tolerance policy for bullying and physical harm does not exist. There are many reasons this school has bad nicknames. Some care about our kids. Some are there for a paycheck. Most average kids receive nothing extra. They do gr...

I recently graduated from PHS, and my experience was truly horrible. Teachers don't care if their students perform well or not. Some AP classes have more than one teacher teaching the course( 2 different classes), and the level of difficulty in both is different. For example, AP biology had two diff...
