GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Great IB experience to all of my kids. The DP program made their transition to college extremely smooth and they all got prestigious scholarships like the Morehead Cain for Chapel Hill and Park Scholar for NC State.

The best part of being at South is that they have the IB program which helps me thrive in my education. Something that I dislike about South is that the communication is absolutely terrible. I am a senior and I have no communication with my counselor about college and nobody has brought it up. If I did go to them they are no help because they "don't know" or they will " get back to you."

I don't mind South, it's not the best school but not the worst. I like the teacher, it's rare but if you find a teacher that really loved their job it's going to be out South. The worst experiences is definitely the people. It's called "South" Iredell for a reason so they're a lot of cliques and groups like the country boys and the theater kids but that's okay. Not everyone there is the nicest and they always have to gather in the middle of the hallways, the slow walkers are the worst

Some people had blank schedules till the day school started. I will probably have to drop my classes due to this and it is pu...

This school is a true depiction of below average, students constantly disrespect teachers and other students. Cliques run rampant throughout the school and the only thing this school prioritizes is football and ROTC. The school is very unclean and they lack a sufficient number of janitors, leaving f...

The school could be improved by funding the arts, and allowing more clubs that make an impact on kids. The things that students do outside of school is what matters and fosters growth. SIHS admin is blind to that.
