GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I like how involved the parents and administration are with the events happening at the school. The food is alright for its price. The academics are fairly good as well, with most teachers enjoying what they teach. There are a lot of athletic opportunities and some of our sports programs have been pretty successful as of late.

When people hear the school name "Sunnyvale High School", they believe it is a high class school with a copious amount of rich students. However, they are mistaken, Sunnyvale contains many different backgrounds. When I say it contains many different backgrounds, I refer to the sterotype that follows this school name. Not everybody is rich, not everybody is perfect, not everybody has parents still together, and nobody has everything all figured out. As a student of sunnyvale high school, I vouche for this claim. I am not perfect, my parents are divorced, and my father was both physically and mentally abusive. I do not come from a rich home, I don't drive the newest car, and I have to work to afford the things that I want. My school has always been very accomidating. I have never felt out of place, and have always had a helping hand when I needed one. I give my school a 5/5. Other than the occasional bad lunch food, I am thankful to attend Sunnyvale High School.

I've enjoyed my experience with Sunnyvale High School overall. The majority of my teachers have been very helpful and understanding about my workload.

1. School lunch is over-priced and in small quantities.2. Anti-intellectual climate. The focus is a lot more on just getting As, than encouraging a life-long love of learning. A number of teachers also turn a blind eye to cheating.3. A number of teachers waste valuable classroom time by occasionally...

Sunnyvale High School has been exceptional in all aspects. From one of my children who has needed accommodations to another who has no problems with Honors level curriculum, the school has provided excellent instruction and has proved to be challenging for both children. Having seen the schools at t...

The teaching of this school is not so well. Students do not learn to independently think and work but instead, rely a lot on teachers for answers. They are used to study in a manner that works well for tests, but not so well for their own understanding. Classes are not very engaging. Students often...
