As a parent whose children have attended all grades in lower school, I would not recommend Charles Wright Academy. My reviews have been removed 3x by niche, so that is all I will say in hopes that my review is not removed. Please visit other sites for candid reviews. Niche is highly moderated.

School is not what it used to be. There have been so many departures and many mid-year with little to no notice. The replacements are not good/strong hires. The class sizes have shrunk over the years as well as families have left. Academics are falling and school is challenged to field sports teams and extracurriculars as well. A lot of the school traditions have fallen to the wayside.

I am a senior. I am really happy with all my teachers and the current Upper School director, Ms. Benson is the best. The food could use a bit of help and the homework load is a lot, but overall it's been a solid experience. They will make sure you do well no matter what and even though it gets stupid hard at some points, it's still a great place to be. Teachers really care about you and put the time in to make sure you are supported.

Charles Wright Academy is not the school it was when our family started attending years ago. What was once a vibrant, respectful, inspiring, and safe community is a place where families and staff operate in a state of fear and retaliation by leadership. There has been a massive--almost 90% turn-over in all levels of the school, both administration and teachers not to mention a lot of families leaving or not coming back.
