Mort Elementary School is a public school in the Tampa Palms neighborhood that was built in 1966 and named after Dr. Paul R. Mort, a teacher, author and lecturer. In 2016, the school adopted the Community Partnership Schools model to create fruitful relationships with the Children’s Home Society, Hillsborough County Public Schools, Tampa Family Health Centers, Tampa Innovation Partnership and the University of South Florida. Mort Elementary provides a fun school environment that empowers students, helps parents and elevates the community. Walls throughout the school building feature colorful murals and sidewalks are painted with encouraging and uplifting messages. The well-stocked media center is home to the student-run WRMT morning show. Students can also tend to an outdoor garden, or care for the school’s chickens. The Mort Elementary Manatees have access to over a dozen enrichment activities, including soccer, a Cub Scouts chapter, dance, yoga, tennis and more. Parents are engaged with an active VIP Parent Program and a popular parent resource center that provides food, hygiene products, computers to accommodate members of the Tampa Palms community. Mort Elementary is a uniform school, with colors determined by one of five ‘houses’ students are placed in: courage, determination, loyalty, respect or perseverance.

My daughter went to school they the breakfast know good never been to a school that don't give cereal and milk to the children's need to do better with the food poor communication with parents

Mort has come a long way in the past few years. There number one problem is lack of communication with the parents due to language barriers.
