With over a 100 year history, Woodrow Wilson Middle School, located in the Hyde Park area of Tampa, is known for its high-performing student population of 6th, 7th and 8th graders. This public school is also well regarded for its century-old tradition of playing morning and end-of-day bugle calls – a Wilson tradition. Academically, the school offers a wide variety of electives from agriculture to robotics – making it an excellent place to help students gauge their interest levels in diverse career paths. During the summers, the school hosts its "Bulldog Bootcamp" for its incoming 6th grade students, assisting its youngsters in transitioning into their new Middle School. To further knowledge and communication between students, parents and the school utilize programs such as Clever.com and Canvas – which provide access to attendance, analytics and assignment information. Progress and innovation have continued to grow at this middle school, and Wilson has been acknowledged by the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) for providing exemplary education on challenging subjects - earning the school a Blue Ribbon of Excellence accreditation by the DOE. To the locals, though, Wilson is a multi-generational academic institution providing local students with opportunities to be a part of this school's rich history.

Good. I always felt safe and cared about at school. The band and orchestra programs were impressive. I was we'll prepared for high school.

as a past student, i do not recommend this school. it’s listed as one of the top schools in tampa but they don’t ever discuss school fights, online safety, etc. on some occasions fights at school happen but nothing is done about it making this a somewhat unsafe campus where students don’t feel safe.

Our daughter had a “normal” middle school, meaning it’s a tough transition and age overall from elementary school, but received a quality education here and it prepared her for success at the high school level and as she has gone off to college. The teachers were great, communication is there if you...

I’m a little surprised at these reviews and don’t agree with them at all . My son is in his second year at Wilson as 7th grader and we couldn’t be happier with this school . Middle school can be tough on kids . Between the shedding of all the “childlike” habits they where use to in Elementary school...

My son is bullied every single day. He used to love school, now he makes up excuses saying hes sick and even hides in closets to avoid going because the bulling is so bad.
