GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

At north the almost all of the teachers and administrators want to help your education. Though no matter how hard they try they can never make up for the conditions the school is in. It is mold and bug infested. The heating and cooling is very faulty and the water from all of the sinks seem to have a toxicity to them. North also lacks lots of AP classes. They also do not weigh grades which can be disheartening to students who put the work into hard classes. Overall the school is getting worse and there are lots of concerning problems that makes students wonder if there safety is a risk. Would not recommend North Vigo High school.

Terre Haute North Vigo high school is not a great place to attend school. The facility is dirty and the air conditioning rarely works. There is no help with getting ready for college on the academic side (aside from 3 of my teachers). There is also no help with the counseling department.

While North is a great school for some their involvement and funding for special needs students are slim to none. The special needs teachers are absolutely amazing, but they do not get the help they deserve. This school like many are mostly worried about sports. There needs to be a HUGE change because so many children are being left behind.

The athletic department's leadership is simply unable to lead, or at least do so in a positive manner. While it looks like a well-oiled machine to the onlooker, behind the scenes there is pettiness and unprofessional rudeness. While some measurable amount of ego-centric behavior is understandable in...

The administration is unapproachable, frigid, and overwhelmed. The degree of education varies widely from classroom to classroom because, apart from standardized testing, there is no common assessment and professional collaboration is infrequent at best. Teachers have very little support in terms of...

My son is completing his freshman year at North and he has had an extremely positive experience in all facets (academic, athletic, social) this year. We have to move at the conclusion of the school year and are sick that he will not graduate from THN. The opportunity to get involved in all types of...

The teachers are great...and the learning capacity is very phenomenal. There are many choices to exceed into...such as Advanced classes, Auto Body, CC courses, Music and Art classes, and more. There is a wide variety of teaching abilities as well, due to the amount of teachers available just to teac...
