Since 1918, Tucker High School has been providing an excellent education for students in Tucker. With approximately 1,800 students in ninth through twelfth grades, Tucker High offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program for juniors and seniors, 18 different Advanced Placement courses and a STEM curriculum to help kids succeed in college and career. The school also boasts an A+ Certification Program in the Technology Education department, as well as a Business Industry certification to prepare kids for life after school. Over 90% of the school’s graduates go on to continue their education at colleges and technical schools. Through the years, Tucker High School students and staff have won numerous awards including Dekalb County STAR Student and Teacher, Teacher of the Year and Counselor of the Year. Students are regularly chosen to participate in the Governor’s Honors Program and the school has consistent representation among National Merit Scholarship Finalists. In sports, the Tucker Tigers are the pride of Tucker. The Tigers are fierce competitors, with recent state championships in basketball, football and track. With exceptional music and arts programs as well as a full range of extracurricular activities, Tucker High School offers a well-rounded education for its students.

As a senior student at Tucker high school, I want to see more students from teachers and students. Us students can't enjoy school if teachers don't find a way to make it entertaining.

The focus on how to educate highschoolers have shifted into a more controlling jail like environment. The new rules and regulations focus too much on one's social life rather than there education.

There could be much improvement on how the administration handles issues such as fighting, bullying, and attendance. In addition, some teachers are clearly in need of more training, but even after reports of issues, they are not given it.

The teachers here need more experience in teaching the students and a little more patience. They do not teach properly. I would not send my kids to ts school, ez classes but hella work, no school spirit, lazy counselors, teachers dont even teach fr. english teachers aren't great if you couldnt tell based on my spelling and grammer. Maybe a 6-7 overall being generous

I dont know what I did to be misfortunate enough to go here I genuinely do not understand how some of the hardest working students can have their motivation and dedication torn and spat on so many times like its normal.

This school has really fallen in quality from when the long-standing principal left at the end of 2017. The next year saw three different principals, as the person hired first was an utter disaster in terms of fit with the school. Now, six years later, the school rating here has gone from a 7 to a 3...
