Henry Zarrow International School, one of two multilingual immersion schools in the Tulsa Public Schools district, calls students to embrace a love of learning and a desire to understand the world around them. The school stimulates this through its immersion program, which teaches English-speaking students to be bilingual in Spanish. Bilingual students are known to be academically advanced as well as to develop a global perspective. While located in north Stevenson, Zarrow International enrolls just under 500 students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade from all across Tulsa. Students begin learning in Spanish as early as kindergarten, with English instruction being integrated as they move through grades. By the time a student reaches fifth grade, they study half the time in Spanish and the other half in English. Fifth graders also have the opportunity to study abroad in Spain or in Costa Rica. In addition to immersive instruction, students also have the opportunity to participate in a number of clubs and organizations, such as dance, math club and student council. Art and music classes are highly regarded at Zarrow International for teaching students the importance of self-expression and teamwork through visual art and music performance. Students leave Zarrow International well-equipped to become lifelong, global learners.

Zarrow is a wonderful school with many enrichments and an involved, diverse community. It is incredible to see my children becoming bilingual and bi-literate, while still excelling in the subjects they would have in a normal setting (math, science, reading). The building isn’t much to look at but wh...

6th year as a Zarrow Aguila! Bitter sweet to see my Aguila fly off to middle school. She has had a time of her life and 5th grade graduation ceremony is ready to send her off as a well rounded, prepared young lady. Diversity around her makes her proud of the uniqueness she has to offer. Loved every...

My son had a great first year, even though it was his first time being introduced to Spanish. Two teachers per room in Kinder, which is great. Principal leads with enthusiasm and it's contagious!
