Holy Family Classical School is a private Catholic school located in downtown Tulsa, Okla., near historic Route 66. Students ages three through five start with a Montessori education, developed by physician Maria Montessori. This hands-on education encourages children to use their senses and natural interests to learn, instead of following a guided curriculum, helping them develop real life skills from a young age.
Students in first through eighth grades follow a classical education model, putting a focus on the liberal arts and a study of the natural sciences. In addition, students have a curriculum that is based strongly in the Catholic faith.
History courses give students the option of ancient, medieval, early modern or modern studies. Science courses include earth science, biology, chemistry, physics and astronomy. Other classes include Latin, poetry and song, Saxon math, language arts and composition, musicology, violin and band, theology, and physical education.
Starting in third grade, students can participate in volleyball, track, cross country and basketball in a partnership with other area schools. Holy Family students are well-rounded scholars and many go on to attend prestigious schools like Bishop Kelley and Cascia Hall.
