The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
The Test Score Rating reflects annual state test results for this school compared with scores statewide.

Pitman is a good school all around just not the football team as much, they aren't as good like the other sports like the girls volleyball team, girls soccer team, Cross country, boy soccer, boys baseball, boys volleyball, basically the worst sport of them all. For all 4 years of highschool I haven't had a bad teacher I can some are way more passionate than others I can 100% say. The worst part is the fire drills we have at school because it happens to often maybe once a week or twice a week I can say. They are helpful but to many times once per two weeks is perfect.

I enjoyed my classes and teachers. I especially enjoyed participating in jazz band with Mr. Modesto.

John H. Pitman is a very inclusive. They are a spirited school that has staff that invest in the future lives of tomorrow. They have lots of options for clubs and extra curricular that look great for college. I was a part of a hiking club that would get together on weekends. It sparked an interest in nature for me. I am proud to be an alumni of such an awesome school. My only negative experience was that in such a big school I felt small. It was easy to get overlooked and unnoticed. More counselors would help students feel more heard.
Overall the school is okay. It is decently upkept and most of the teachers are good, however, the school rarely puts any effort or money into the experience of the students and this is not due to a lack of money but simply twisted priorites.
