GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I went to West Craven for all four years of high school and I loved my time there. I was apart of the avid program and without that program I would have never known what to do when college came around. The worst part about WCHS was the fights but they stopped after my freshman year thanks to our principal.

They are a good school the care about our education and they just want us to be successful when we graduate and go out there in the real world.

It's a great school. Just focus on your work and get to class on time and you should be fine. And choose your friends wisely.

Stay far away from this school. Your kids are not safe. Bullying is swept under the rug, the staff protects the bullies. The staff tells lies and cover up and protect certain students. There’s something suspicious going on at this school and it won’t be long before it’s exposed.

Great teachers that deserve more, but terrible admins who make going to school the absolute worst.

This school has gone seriously downhill since the change in leadership in 2008. Previous principals at this school consistently enforced discipline and involved the community. The new one appears to play "favorites" in student discipline, is uninterested in any input on school matters from parents,...
