The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
The Test Score Rating reflects annual state test results for this school compared with scores statewide.

Henrietta Lacks Health & Bioscience High School is overall a great school, though with its size, you can see where certain aspects they may lack in, which is to be expected with the size. It's small, however its not a bad thing. The sense of community is strong and its a safe place to be at. While its advertised as a Health and Bioscience school, I think you can still have a place there even if your interests don't specifically lie in those fields

Because I attended Henrietta Lacks School of Health and Bioscience during the Covid-19 pandemic, I have a skewed view of the school, but I would say that school culture was pretty toxic because it was a magnet high school. A lot of students were trying to "one-up" others in clubs, group projects, and individual assignments in the hopes of getting one foot ahead. I really enjoyed the science focus and I learned a lot in the short time I was in person.

I really enjoy attending HeLa, It's a small school only one building with about 600 students. I enjoy the small school setting, and science aspect. Through this school I've discovered I like biosciences, and think of it as a future career choice. Something I other wise would have not thought about. One thing I wish I could change is more after school activities, as we don't have sports teams. meaning there is no games to attend for our school.
Im a freshman, most teachers are fine but the rude ones stick out, lunch sucks, feels like eating prison slop, just altogether a bad experience so far, I might change if things improve
