GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Being at Golden West for the past 4 years has been amazing if I am being honest. A lot of people like to talk down on our school but it really brings me joy attending Golden West. The students for the most part are amazing and the staff love to help us succeed. Our principals do an amazing job making themselves known to the students and creating connections with them. I have never had a teacher that would be little me. The teachers are also very flexible with athletes and students who have other commitments and their schedules with class work and not over working them. The campus supervisors do a great job making connections with the students that don't necessarily enjoy coming to school and being on campus and they ultimately help them go into class instead of wondering around. Our school culture has been struggling for the past 3 years but I can say that this year it has dramatically improved and many students are now participating in events that they would not normally have before.

I have been attending Golden West since freshman year. My overall experience hasn't been bad but it isn't the best either. My first 2 years I was on varsity cheer. I enjoyed it until it became toxic. I like how my school have a diversity of students and activities. I would like to see teachers being more understanding and involved throughout our highschool journeys.

As an alumni of this school, I would not recommend sending your children here. If you can avoid it at all, please do. Extremely high gang activity, disengaged teachers, and poor inclusivity has plagued this school since the 90's. I am sorry to say it has not changed at all.

Unfortunately like many other "ratings". This system uses test scores as the measure of quality. I can tell you that our academic programs are the equal to any in the area. In addition we continually send students to he top universities. Our emphasis continues to be on the whole student and growing...

Teachers are unresponsive to phone calls and emails when parents attempt contact them. I m sorry you didn t receive a phone call I m sorry you didn t get...

Both of my children attend Golden West High School. My husband is a retired Marine and our children have attended many schools in many states throughout the years. Golden West has been the best school our children have attended, including the military base schools. Golden West is not a perfect schoo...
