GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Most of the teachers at are school are amazing, but there's still a good number of teacher's who aren't. The security is overly time consuming and a bit harsh (eyelash curlers were banned for a bit), but it only seems to work. There are an amazing amount of clubs, and its really easy to start your own club, too.

Jackson Reed High School is a great place to be. The diversity here is amazing, and you get to meet people from all different backgrounds, which makes school a lot more interesting. The teachers care about their students, for the most part, and are always willing to help you out. The senior counselor was also really supportive and up-lifting. Overall, Jackson Reed has been a positive experience for me.

As a teacher at Jackson-Reed High School (formerly Wilson), I can assure you that the pedagogical practices of the teachers are top notch and solid. With over 150 teachers and almost 2400 students in the building, there will always be a student who has an occasional difficulty with a teacher or has...

We sent our oldest son here when we first moved to DC based on the Great Schools rating. Our son, who is typically very socially adaptable and academically engaged, quickly lost interest in school and began showing signs of depression and anxiety. When we finally got him to talk about what was happe...
