The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Whitney Point High School is a unique school to say the least. I come from a school in Florida where we had an approximate 30/1 student teacher ratio. Moving to a small town where we have maybe 15 students to a class immensely changes the way of learning in a good way. Here at Whitney Point we get a lot of one on one time with teachers which shows in our students grades. The campus is respectable and the staff for the most part are friendly. Amidst the pandemic the teachers do fantastic work to make sure we continue learning and we keep up with our work load. Over all Whitney Point is one of the top schools in the district.

I have been going to Whitney Point my entire life and will be graduating in 2020. This place has become my home and the memories made last a lifetime. I could not imagine going anywhere else. The teachers and staff are welcoming and always have students best interests at heart. Guidance staff were not always helpful when preparing for college so a lot had to be done on our own. Things I would like to change would be the teachers awareness on certain issues or problems happening at school. People used to be so focused on bullying (which is somewhat prevalent) but I feel as though there are other important topics administration could focus on.

Supportive community. Great teachers. Lots of programs. Great, very active music programSupport programs for kids that need it.
I've gone to a fair share of H.S. throughout my time and I learned the least at WP. Bullying is highly overlooked and the administration has never treated me or my family kindly. Everyone has gone to school with each other since pre-K too, not very new-kid friendly.
A very disappointing high school administration with poor leadership skills and are unwilling to cooperate with law authority. Administration also displays a lack of communication amongst parents and children that are well below average. Fortunately, many of the teachers do not choose to follow in t...
