GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My experience at New Hanover High is like a elevator , it goes up and down 24/7. Some days at Hanover you would enjoy a good day all day long and it change by the time its time to go home , then you have those days were it starts off rocky and then thats how you know its going to be a bad day all around . If i see one change at New Hanover i would make it understandable to hear and try to work with student voice instead of going against it .

The school spirit makes this school the best in the county. The teachers, the students, and the alumni make all the events special and fun. I loved going to the big games, especially the football games. I wish that excitement was felt for the girls' teams, too.

I love this school, but has some difficulties with being packed. Great diversity and it's pretty easy to make friends!!

I actually wish I could give this school a 0. If you are looking for a school for your child that is Special Needs this is not the school. They act like they do not have time for your child. When you need to talk to someone in the Special Education Department no one returns your call. You can call e...

What a difference a year makes. Two of my children attend NHHS now, and I could not be more pleased. The new principal has come on to the scene with great ideas to motivate staff and students. The school is safer, cleaner, and doing much better across the board. The freshman academy has been amazing...
