Woodlake Elementary Community Charter is dedicated to the ongoing pursuit of academic and artistic excellence, personal achievement and social success for their students. Woodlake’s mission is to provide students with the necessary tools to become lifelong learners and productive citizens of the twenty-first century by promoting collaboration and innovation. Woodlake envisions students who can work toward and achieve their fullest potential according to their unique gifts and optimum learning style. As a School for Advanced Studies (S.A.S.), Woodlake Elementary provides programs to meet the differentiated instructional needs of gifted and talented (GATE) pupils. The programs are designed to improve educational options and increase professional training to support the development of gifted and talented youth. With a culture of teachers emphasizing S.A.S. techniques and critical thinking skills, all students, whether deemed GATE or not, receive higher-level instruction and benefit from the enriched education. Woodlake also offers after-school enrichment classes, music instruction, art workshops and a state-of-the-art computer lab.

The amount of opportunities this school presents to the students are incredible. They have Mindfulness classes, Yoga, Girls on the Run, Spanish, Fishbowl, Gardening, YMCA, Got Game, Parker Anderson Classes, and LA’s Best programs. Several are free, some you pay to be in.
