My experience at Wylie East High School has been a very good one that has led me to be extremely prepared for college. I feel developed academically and I take great pride in my school.

On this campus, there are many great things, but there are some things that are not so good. The career and technical classes are my favorite part of this campus because they prepare me for later in life. At the same time, there is a problem with fights, and drugs in the bathroom.

Overall, I had an incredibly positive experience at WEHS. The choir directors made every day easier and made WEHS feel like home. I also really felt valued by most of my teachers, especially in my English, math, CTE, and science courses. My CTE teacher was always welcoming and made class a family. The clubs were also fun and an amazing way for me to feel connected at school. Specifically, the teaching club, TAFE, and Diversity Club.

The school is great so far and there are very few fights ever. It seems there used to be a big drug problem but has been heavily reduced. Great teachers and a great community.

If my children were the cookie cutter kids this school panders to, I would be rating them all “strongly agree” but seeing the sad underbelly of how they treat kids who tend to stretch their idea of the perfect student, I cannot imagine the kind of damage they are doing to the 10-15% of students who...
