A Murray Hill condo offering convenience and impressive views
Many people are drawn to the Manhattan neighborhood of Murray Hill for its convenience and connectivity to other parts of the city. Prospective residents have hundreds of residential buildings to choose from, but the advantages of living in Murray Hill can vary depending on where in the area one lives. “Not all east side buildings are close to the subway,” says Nayi Shen, a broker with Nest Seekers International who represents units at 325 Lex.
Compared with a 15-minute trek from First or Second Avenue, 325 Lex is less than a five-minute walk to Grand Central Terminal. “For certain people who work in the city, they want to get places really quickly,” adds Shen.
Shen says another factor helps distinguish 325 Lex, built in 2014, from many of its neighboring high-rises. Designed by Dror, the 31-story condo offers residents prime views, including the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building, from one-bedroom apartments — a perk typically reserved for a condo’s larger and pricier units. “[The developer] put a decent amount of one-bedrooms on the upper portion of the building. You get a good-sized apartment with the best views in the area,” she says. (For residents who don’t live on one of those upper floors, the shared roof deck provides an impressive unobstructed view of the Chrysler Building and surrounding cityscape.)
A large inventory of one-bedrooms, walnut cabinets and marble baths
Homes in the 125-unit condo range in size from studios to three-bedrooms; more than half of the apartments in the building are one-bedrooms.
Studios measuring a maximum of 591 square feet list for up to $1 million. One-bedrooms as large as 794 square feet are priced as high as $2.1 million, and two-bedrooms as big as 1,138 square feet ask for up to $2.3 million. Three-bedroom units are full-floor penthouses measuring about 2,500 square feet. Both sold in 2015, with the priciest selling for $8.6 million.
The open-concept design features floor-to-ceiling windows, 10-foot ceilings and wide-plank walnut floors. Kitchens include handsome custom walnut cabinets and quartz countertops. The suite of stainless steel appliances includes a Bertazzoni range, a Liebherr refrigerator and a Bosch dishwasher. “Everything is built-in. It’s elegantly designed,” says Shen. Apartments also have a washer and dryer. Baths are clad in polished Calacatta marble and include marble-topped floating walnut vanities, a walk-in shower and a rain showerhead.
A full-service condo, roof deck with views and a fitness center by the Wright Fit
A 24-hour door attendant and a live-in resident manager staff the full-service condo. The building has a landscaped and furnished roof deck with a barbecue grill. The Wright Fit designed the condominium’s windowed fitness center. Shen notes that the shared spaces at 325 Lex are not large but adds, “They take really good care of the amenity spaces. It feels like almost a new building.” A large Japanese restaurant operates on the ground floor of the building.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
