East Brighton suburb packed with convenience

Even though Bromley Park is in Brighton, an area historically known as a rural community, there are more houses than farmland. Single-family homes and townhouses were built in rows in Brighton’s new suburban area east of downtown, from the end of the 20th to the start of the 21st century. Shopping centers were erected along the main roads shortly thereafter, connecting the subdivisions to the city and combatting the idea that living in Brighton meant living far away from commercial areas.

Subdivision saturated with new traditionals and contemporary townhouses

Rows of new traditional houses and contemporary townhouses line the Bromley Park subdivision. New traditionals feature stone accents and decorative gables and are listed from $400,000 to $610,000. Homeowners association fees of around $75 fund maintenance projects for community amenities, such as the neighborhood parks and trash pickup service. Townhouses are painted in vibrant colors and cost between $345,000 and $405,000. Potential wildfires are a region-wide concern, especially in the northern part of the neighborhood with farmland and open spaces. To counter this, East Brighton was developed, the city built a fire station alongside the new subdivisions to shorten response times in case of emergency.

Parks for every season and a state park

Seasonally named parks dot different areas throughout the community, ensuring every home has a park within walking distance. Fall and Summer parks each have playgrounds, while Spring and Winter parks both have open spaces with benches. Outside user passes are available for purchase for access to the pool and indoor recreation facilities at Venture Center in the Brighton Crossings development. Nearby, Barr Lake State Park spans over 2,700 acres. “There’s a whole bird sanctuary, so people will walk those trails. You can’t put motorized boats or anything like it on the lake, but you can paddleboard and kayak,” says Gina Bradshaw, a lifelong Coloradan and Realtor with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Colorado Real Estate who has over 5 years of experience.

Shopping centers and downtown Main Street’s local businesses

Prairie Center Shopping Center has box stores just south of the neighborhood, including Target, Kohl’s and Home Depot, as well as restaurant chains, such as Red Robin. King Soopers is the closest grocer, located on state Highway 7. Main Street, in downtown Brighton, has locally owned shops, such as Bee and Thistle Marketshops’s antique and craft store, and casual restaurants, including Main Street Cafe and La Estrellita. Main Street also plays host to annual events, including the Festival of Lights Parade and a tree lighting in December. “They do a Harvest Fest where during the day they have the street blocked off, and they do trick or treating for the kids, but then at 4 o’clock it is a pub crawl,” Bradshaw says.
