A river runs through it
Bounded to the east by the Catawba River, Moores Chapel is a quiet residential neighborhood enveloped in a natural setting. Interstates 85 and 485 touch upon the southern and eastern borders, respectively. “Moores Chapel is a great commuter location, right at the edge of Charlotte,” says Trevor Hall with Helen Adams, a Realtor for five years who grew up locally. “This is an emerging area.” The neighborhood’s meandering streets and sidewalks are lined with mature oak trees, giving residents a sense of peace and privacy.

Lots of architectural styles
Though some areas are still underdeveloped, there are groupings of new turnkey ranch-style homes that have garages, manicured lawns and yards that measure 1/8 of an acre or less. On McCorkle Road, midcentury houses are set on large lots of `½ acre or more. Home range in price from $265,000 to $683,000. Moores Chapel is surrounded by established suburban communities with thriving local economies, a snapshot of where this neighborhood is headed. “You have a lot of great neighborhoods here where you’re going to see a lot of value,” Hall says. According to Hall, locals expect significant appreciation in this neighborhood’s future. “Inventory is still very low here,” he says. “The area will continue growing because Charlotte is running out of room.”
