Close to everything
Just outside of downtown Cincinnati, the neighborhood of Linwood has the conveniences of big-city living. “Everything is close by, which can be a good thing, and it can also cause some issues,” says Beth Yeary of Coldwell Banker Realty, with eight years of experience in the area. “Some locals may complain about being close to the Lunken Airport, but it typically doesn’t cause too much noise or traffic.” In addition to being close to the big city, Linwood has plenty of parks, walking trails and golf courses for the active residents. The neighborhood has a few dining options, but most locals visit the nearby neighborhood of Hyde Park for shopping. The neighborhoods are older and more established in Linwood and much of the neighborhood has remained unchanged for decades.

Historic homes on small lots
The median price point for a single-family home is right at $165,000. Many of the houses were built at the turn of the century and have historical status. Many are shotgun-style builds with narrow porches, while there are also a few grander Victorian-style homes in the area. “I wouldn’t say cookie cutter, but the homes tend to all sit on smaller lots and have a similar look,” says Yeary. Houses tend to sit on two-lane streets and do not have private driveways, so street parking is a necessity. There are paved sidewalks on each side of the roads for exercising and dog walking, and many homes feature modest yards.
