Outdoor-centric neighborhood near waterfront restaurants and a state park

Seven miles south of Crystal River and just east of U.S. Route 98 sits Homosassa Springs, a neighborhood known for its affinity for the outdoors. “There is 365 days of boating here,” says Greg Klesius, a Broker with Gulf Coast Fishing Homes Realty. “You can boat in the winter. The river here is 74 degrees, regardless of the day. It’s predominantly fresh water. This is what’s fun about this place.” The community in Homosassa Springs also comes together to help one another. “You break down on the water here; you’ll have five people trying to help you,” Klesius says. Residents enjoy nature and wildlife at the Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park when not out on the water. The waterfront seafood restaurants in Homosassa also add to the neighborhood’s appeal.
