Serene suburb in northern Edina
Known for its A-rated school district, Edina attracts families and professionals with its serenity and suburban vibe just on the outskirts of Minneapolis. Situated along State Highway 100, Grandview offers potential buyers a mix of houses and condos to choose from. Unlike most of Edina, this northern suburb prides itself on walkability and easy access to urban amenities. “It’s so close to local coffee shops and restaurants, plus big box retailers like Jerry's Foods,” says Joe Carmack, Realtor with Carmack Real Estate Group and the creator of Living in Minnesota on YouTube. Community mainstays like the Edina Library—for a new page-turner—and The Hilltop—for a local meal— add to the community atmosphere. And commuters can reach downtown Minneapolis in just 9 miles, or about 20 minutes.

Minimal traditionals and multi-family townhouses
The real estate market in Grandview is competitive due to its distinguished school district and proximity to urban amenities. With a median sales price of $500,000, homes in Grandview cost about $200,000 more than the average property in the Minneapolis Metro Area. While the neighborhood is primarily composed of apartments, single-family options are also available in a traditional six-block grid pattern east of the commercial area along Vernon Avenue South. Minimalist styles are common and range from the high $300,000s to upwards of $600,000 for a rambler or Cape Cod. Prices range from $300,000 for a condo to more than $900,000 for a newly built townhouse. Most homes were constructed in the 1950s, but newer builds are also available. “There’s been an average of 100 teardowns in Edina in the last 10 to 15 years,” says Barry Berg, Realtor at Coldwell Banker Realty. “It’s so common that Edina has hired someone to manage the teardown activity.” Homes have detached garages, mid-sized yards and paved entryways. While the streets lack sidewalks, they are primarily residential and are often used for dog walking amid the slower traffic.
