A diverse community in the San Gabriel Valley with plenty of retail and events on Main Street
Local shops and restaurants line the Main Street retail hub of Downtown El Monte, where diverse businesses reflect a predominantly Hispanic and Asian community. Here locals can do it all, from going out for brunch to finding nightlife on the weekends. “Buyers choose downtown for the restaurants and lifestyle — this is where you can go out and have a nice, fun date,” says Realtor Callie Wilson of Dilbeck Real Estate, who has worked in the area since 2022. Downtown El Monte’s lively atmosphere is amplified by many community events held throughout the year: a weekly farmers market, holiday celebrations and more family-friendly shindigs.
