Meacham Middle School named after a prominent local educator
Diamond Hill-Jarvis is part of the Fort Worth Independent School District. Diamond Hill Elementary is graded a C by Niche. Built in 1885 and previously known as the Ellis School, it was the first school in the Diamond Hill area. Meacham Middle School receives a C-minus from Niche. Meacham is named after William Alfred Meacham, a teacher and Fort Worth ISD assistant superintendent for 30 years. Diamond Hill-Jarvis High School earns a C-plus rating and is known for its strong athletic program, having won state championships in boys’ soccer and cross country in the last few years.

Fort Worth Meacham International Airport borders the neighborhood directly to the west, so residents may hear the sounds of planes taking off and landing. There are several bus stops throughout the area, including half a dozen on Decatur Avenue. Medical City Fort Worth Hospital is about 6 miles south into Downtown Fort Worth. Drivers can access Interstate 35, which leads downtown and to other parts of the Metroplex. “I-35 is a major interstate; lots of trucks take that road, so there are lots of truck stops,” says Cory Cross, a Realtor with Campagna Real Estate who has lived all around the DFW area.
