“About 80% of people here commute to New York,” Primus says. “You have your choice of buses or trains. Ten Mile Run would use Princeton Junction vs New Brunswick. You’ll have a quicker commute with Princeton Junction.” U.S. Route 1 is the major road commuters take to drive 8 miles to Princeton or 50 miles north to Manhattan, New York. A trip to Princeton takes less than 20 minutes, while Manhattan is more than an hour’s drive. Primus also highlights the MarketFair Mall and Quaker Bridge Mall farther down Route 1. Residents who want farm-fresh produce can drive down Bunker Hill Road to visit the Griggstown Farm Market.
“Besides the shopping aspect, what’s really unique is the diversity,” Primus says. “There are all kinds of restaurants, from Greek and Mediterranean to French and American bistro fare. There are bring-your-own-bottle spots in the Downtown Princeton area, minutes away. You don’t have to spend a lot on wine because you bring your own, and the food is fresh. The owners speak with customers, and it’s always a welcoming feel.” Closer to Ten Mile Run, there's Confectionately Yours, a destination for sandwiches and sweet treats. Bereket Gyro & Grill is a popular locally owned spot on Route 1 that serves Turkish dishes, and the attached specialized market sells Turkish and Middle Eastern products.
