With street names like Clover Lane, Ivy Way and Foliage Drive, The Meadow Creek community offers several green spaces with leisure and community around every corner.

Living in Meadow Creek, you're always close to summer picnics and places for your dog to run around, as several neighborhood parks provide refuge for relaxation, such as Duck Creek Park. Bass Park offers shady trails for biking or jogging within the backdrop of the flowing currents of Duck Creek. Freedom Park is an open green space with a small playground and ample room for Frisbee or neighborhood meetups. However, be careful; locals note the high frequency of dragonflies flying through. The neighborhood is under 5 miles from Lake Ray Hubbard for fishing, boating and tubing adventures.

Meadow Creek consists of brick ranch-style homes constructed in the 70's and situated on well-maintained residential streets with sidewalks. Central features of homes include driveways, fenced backyards, outdoor sheds and back alleyways. You'll also find cozy, cottage-style homes with dormer windows, garages and inground pools, an ideal escape from the Texan heat. You'll find that prices in Meadow Creek range from $280,000 for a three-bedroom to $415,000 for up to five bedrooms.

Students of Meadow Creek may be a part of the Garland Independent School District with an overall ranking of an A-minus, according to Niche. As one of the district's Innovative Schools of Choice, young Learners at Handley Elementary School will be involved in a rigorous STEM-based curriculum. The Classical Center at Brandenburg Middle centers a classical curriculum offering piano, dance, and gymnastics classes. South Garland High School students may sign up to be a part of the school's signature programs. "The Gilbreath-Reed Career and Technical Center is an awesome program where students can get acquainted with careers in mechanics, engineering, architecture, veterinary technology, all sorts of things," says Patrick Abell, a Realtor with United Real Estate for almost a decade.

Meadow Creek is car-dependent, but you'll find several bus stops for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) if you need public transit. Residents move to Garland due to its proximity to Dallas, about 15 miles away. For quick drives to work at the hosptials or manufacturing sites, nearby are Interstate 30 and Interstate 365. Fire Wheel Town Center is approximately 5 miles away, with various upscale and casual retailers.

A Walmart Neighborhood Market is in the community, so you won't have to venture far out for groceries. And you'll always be close to authentic Mexican cuisine, such as La Piñita on Broadway Boulevard, a combination of a taqueria and fruteria. Norma's Mexican Restaurant is a cozy, sit-down atmosphere, while La Real Michoacana is a place to cool down from the heat with its signature paletas and ice cream selections. In the corner of Meadow Creek is the Plaza Garland Shopping Mall, hosting several clothing and furniture stores, fast-food shops and a Retro Fitness.

Downtown Garland also has loads of reoccurring events like the Garland Pop-Up Market and Thirsty Third Thursdays. Annual celebrations include the Dia De Los Muertos Festival and the town square Christmas Tree lighting. "We also have the largest Labor Day parade on this side of the Mississippi River; we embrace everything and have it all," Abell says. So, if you're looking to live close to Dallas while also in a quiet suburb close to well-regarded schools and parks, welcome to Meadow Creek.
