Quiet streets in a continually growing side of town
With a modern housing scene and walkable streets in Greeley’s far-west end, West Point offers high-end architecture and spacious yards near the restaurants and amenities of Tenth Street. “West Point has a selection of really nice, newer homes,” says Benson Verbel, a West Greeley resident and real estate agent with NextHome Foundations. “The West Greeley area is continuing to develop, and we’re seeing new home construction along with new recreation and shopping hubs in the works.”
Modern homes and a wide array of house prices
The neighborhood’s streets are lined with modern traditional, craftsman-style and ranch-style homes, with well-maintained greenways between residential pockets. Most homes sit on quarter-acre lots and have fenced-in back yards and two-car attached garages. Most of the neighborhood’s houses were built between the early 2000s and 2022, and single-story builds range from $430,000 to $615,000, while larger homes can go for $630,000 to $900,000. Two-bedroom condos range from $280,000 to $310,000.
Concurrent enrollment courses and nearby charter schools
Serving kindergarten through eighth-grade students, S. Christa McAuliffe S.T.E.M. Academy is within a half-mile walk of all homes in West Point and earns a B-minus grade from Niche. Northridge High School also receives a B-minus and offers tuition-free concurrent-enrollment courses through Aims Community College. The High School also offers career and technical education courses in subjects like engineering, information technology and business marketing. “You also have a handful of charter and private schools in the area,” says Verbel. Options on the west side include West Ridge Academy Charter and Union Colony Preparatory School.
Spots facilities and walking trails near West Point
Peak View Park has facilities for baseball, volleyball and basketball, along with open field space, walking paths and a playground. Allen Park is a popular spot for picnicking and fishing, with a serene pond stocked with trout, crappies and panfish. Around two miles southeast of West Point, the Greeley Country Club is home to a beautifully maintained 18-hole golf course. Club members have access to its tennis and pickleball facilities, outdoor pool and dining rooms. The Poudre River Trail can be accessed from the Signature Bluffs Natural Area trailhead a short drive north and follows alongside its namesake waterway for around 40 miles through Greeley, Windsor and Fort Collins. “The Cascadia project is expected to start in the coming years,” Verbel says. “It is a billion-dollar endeavor to build a multiuse center for retail and recreation in the west end.”
Local restaurants along 10th Street
Coyote’s Southwestern Grill lies on the south side of the neighborhood and has a diverse menu, with dishes ranging from pork belly street tacos to green chili burgers. The eatery also has a wide selection of specialty margaritas and infuses its own tequila. Outriders Bar and Grill serves classic pub fare in a lively atmosphere, with pool tables, darts and dozens of craft beers on the menu. Outriders also hosts regular karaoke nights and live music. There are also numerous fast-food eateries within a short drive. King Soopers and Walmart are both within a 2-mile drive of West Point.
Greeley Evans Transit and nearby thoroughfares
Bus stops can be found nearby along 10th Street and 59th Avenue, with six routes across town operated by Greeley Evans Transit. The Poudre Express bus provides service to Windsor and Fort Collins. “You have easy access to other Northern Colorado communities from West Greeley,” Verbel says. Drivers can take U.S. Route 34 around 17 miles west to Loveland or 58 miles east to Fort Morgan. Interstate 25 spans roughly 55 miles south to Downtown Denver.
GreatSchools:
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
