A luxurious community on the northern shoreline of Lake Oswego
The Lakeview Summit neighborhood is a lot more impressive from the water than it is from the road. Stretching across almost two miles of Oswego Lake's northern shoreline, this long and skinny neighborhood has some of the most luxurious homes in Lake Oswego. “Lakeview Summit is an exclusive enclave known for its stunning homes, beautiful landscapes and unparalleled views of Lake Oswego,” Nick Shivers, CEO Principal Broker at The Nick Shivers Team says. “It's a neighborhood that prioritizes quality of life, offering peaceful living with easy access to urban conveniences.”
Trails, trails and more trails
Residents of Lakeview-Summit enjoy spending time at the 51-acre Iron Mountain Park, where they'll find a playground, a picnic shelter, and a system of trails to the abandoned Prosser Iron Mine. The Columbia Land Trust's 2.3-acre Beth Ryan Nature Preserve also offers neighborhood residents a chance to explore the forest, even if it's just for a quick walk with their dog. Just north of the neighborhood is Springbrook City Park, a 52-acre park with wildlife viewing, trails and paths. The park is also home to Lake Oswego Indoor Tennis Center.
Collection of mansions on private sizable lots
Tucked behind elaborate hedges, fences, and tall trees on lots that range in size from one-third to three-fourths of an acre, homebuyers will find a collection of larger Craftsman houses from the 1920s, Craftsman-inspired houses from much later periods, and Northwest Contemporary houses with modern design features like floor to ceiling windows. There are also older mansions that feature elements from the Colonial Revival and Mediterranean Revival styles, and Millennial mansions that feature varying rooflines and a decorative front entrance. Apart from a few cottages that fetched $800,000, most of the houses in the Lakeview-Summit neighborhood range from $1 million to $7 million. Even a ranch-style house dating back to the late 1960s recently fetched over $1 million in this neighborhood. “New arrivals are instantly taken by the neighborhood's elegance, the beauty of its natural surroundings and the pristine condition of each property,” Shivers says. “The panoramic vistas of the lake and the meticulously landscaped streets make a lasting impression.” Residents of the Lakeview-Summit neighborhood who don't have a private dock at their lakefront house can access Oswego Lake through the Lake Oswego Corporation's Goodin, Springbrook, and Summit Court boat ramps.
City of Lake Oswego community events
The City of Lake Oswego hosts a collection of community events throughout the year. On Saturdays from May to October, residents head over to Millennium Plaza Park for Lake Oswego’s Farmers Market. The event allows visitors to discover the region's finest agricultural and food products. The event has live music each week as well. Also in May at the Millennium Plaza Park is the Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month Celebration, where locals honor the rich culture of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders with dances, musical performances, food and a keynote address.
Between two dining destination hotbeds
In addition to being on Oswego Lake's northern shore, residents of the Lakeview-Summit neighborhood are between the Boone's Ferry Road Commercial District and downtown Lake Oswego. They can head west through the Lake Grover neighborhood to visit La Provence Boulangerie & Patisserie, one of Rossi's favorites, for brunch and Malee's Thai or Riccardo's Ristorante for dinner. Or, they can head east through the Country Club-North Shore neighborhood to downtown Lake Oswego and the historic First Addition neighborhood, where they can grab a beer at Duke's Public House, sample the Italian fare at Tucci, or pick up a sundae from the Lake Oswego Ice Creamery and Restaurant. For grocery shopping, residents head just outside the neighborhood to Albertsons.
Perfect scores for Lake Oswego High School
Children in Lakeview-Summit may start their educational journeys at Lake Grove Elementary School before moving on to Lake Oswego Junior High School, both of which earned A grades from Niche. From there, students move on to Lake Oswego High School, Oregon's best public high school. The school earned an A-plus grade from Niche and a 10 out of 10 score from GreatSchools. Lake Oswego High School is also known for its tremendous athletics track record with various athletes winning the Gatorade Player of the Year award including NBA champion Kevin Love. As a part of the Lake Oswego School District, students can join the Lake Grove Swim Park and use its facilities on the lake's western tip.
Proximity to public transportation options
While no public transportation is available in the neighborhood, residents can head west to the Boones Ferry Rd & Firwood bus stop for rush hour bus service. To take advantage of TriMet’s rail system, residents would need to head to the Tualatin Park & Ride station, a 3-mile drive from the neighborhood. For those looking to commute into Downtown Portland, it’s a 10-mile drive north. Portland International Airport is a 20-mile drive, while Providence Milwaukie Hospital is about 10 miles away.
Oswego Lake Country Club
Just 4 miles from the neighborhood is Oswego Lake Country Club. The club includes a par 71 championship course, golf practice facilities, private dining in their expansive clubhouse and a pool. The club is member-only.
