First-time homebuyer destination with shopping and recreation
Those looking to buy their first home in the “horse capital of the world” should include Woodhill on their wish list. In addition to having an average sale price that is less than half of the entire Lexington area, this community located about 4 miles southeast of the city’s downtown is surrounded by amenities that meet the needs of all ages and lifestyles. “It just has very easy access to almost all major parts of Lexington, and it’s very affordable for a lot of first-time homebuyers,” says Erika Beatty, a Realtor with Plum Tree Realty, who’s made just under 10 sales in the neighborhood. Well over 20 languages are spoken in the neighborhood, and residents are close to some relaxing green spaces like Woodhill Park and training facilities for youth basketball and soccer players and even ice skaters. Several shopping centers featuring chain brands and dining establishments span a few pockets along Richmond and New Circle roads. “It’s right by Hamburg, which is a big shopping center. There are good schools and it’s right on the Circle, so there’s easy access to jobs and things like that. It’s a great area,” Beatty says.
