“This is a very big lacrosse town,” Manhasset Secondary School grad Hannon says.

When the weather is warm, villagers head west to the breathtaking Manhasset Bay to kayak, fish, paddle-board or swim. On the village’s east side, nature lovers can hike, forest-bathe and bird-watch in the Leeds Pond Nature Preserve.
Access to Leeds Pond is limited to residents who own surrounding homes. Many villagers belong to the Plandome Country Club, where they can play golf and tennis or go for a swim.
