As a result of their reciprocal partnership with the Lenape Regional High School District, students will continue their education at Lenape High School, which has an A rating. Burlington County Institute of Technology has two campuses, one around seven miles away and the other about 11 miles away, so high school students who are interested in technical and vocational programs have an alternative. There are also five local colleges and universities, including Rowen College.
Lots of outdoors activities
The Funplex is an amusement park that has bowling, go-karts and water slides, among other fun activities for the young and young at heart. Laurel Acres Park hosts events and Top Golf is a great place to hit the links. “There’s always something going on at Laurel Acres Park,” Previte says. “You see a sign basically every week for things like movie nights in the park and awareness events.” Laurel Acres Park is often bustling with activity and locals love to come to this picturesque park and stroll along the paths that surround the fishing pond. The park also has athletic fields, a playground and a dog park. Sledding on the hills of the park is a popular winter activity for kids. Additionally, the park hosts Mount Laurel’s 4th of July fireworks show in 2024. Other points of interest in the area include XL Sports World Mt. Laurel, Igloo Ice Rink, Mount Laurel Township Community Gardens and the NFL Films headquarters.
Big-box stores and eateries
On nearby NJ Route 38 is a bevy of restaurants, shops and attractions. Many big-box businesses, including Wegmans, Target and Costco, fill Centerton Square. There are several little shopping complexes along the way, each housing a unique assortment of local storefronts. Along Route 38 are also the majority of the township's eateries, one of which is Prospector's Steakhouse & Saloon, famous for its huge salad bar and country line dancing. The crabcakes at Carlucci's Waterfront, which overlooks Rancocas Creek, are also a local favorite. Other popular eateries include Cucina Carini Italian Restaurant and Tony Soprano’s Pizza.

Many ways to get around
Mount Laurel is a popular neighborhood for city workers, and Center City Philadelphia is located about fifteen miles to the west. Although driving is an option, Haddonfield, which is approximately 10 miles away from Mount Laurel, has a PATCO train station. Center City may be reached in around 25 minutes by train. Drivers have access to the majority of the region’s main thoroughfares — Interstate 295, New Jersey Routes 73 and 38 and the New Jersey Turnpike all cut through the area. In addition, New Jersey Route 70 is a short distance away. Trenton Mercer and Philadelphia International airports are both about an hour away.
